Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Veterans Service Agency will recognize POW/MIA Recognition Day with a ceremony in the lobby of the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello on Friday, September 15 at 1 p.m.

A unique and often poignant gathering, Recognition Day is filled with important symbolism and is open to the public. The Keynote Speaker will be John McCloud, Retired Air Force Captain and a Goshen native, who served on two aircraft carriers as an Air Traffic Controller Second Class Petty Officer, finishing his career as an Aerial Porter Technical Sergeant and a Nurse at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh. He currently serves veterans as the Primary Care Nurse at an area VA Clinic.

The County invites the public and press to take the time to remember those who were prisoners of war (POW), those who remain missing in action (MIA), and their families.
