Liberty, NY – On Monday, April 1, the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force arrested Joanne C. Mack, 41, as a fugitive from justice. Mack is wanted  under the alias of Joanne Price in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania for violation of probation, on an original charge of Theft by Deception – False Impression. Mack is also wanted by Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Police for Fraud.

The Delaware County, NY Fraud Task Force developed information that Mack might be hiding out in Sullivan County and receiving benefits. Delaware County notified Sullivan County investigators, who tracked Mack to the Super 8 Motel in Monticello, where she had been placed by the Department of Family Services. She was spotted Monday afternoon getting into a cab in Monticello and was taken into custody.

Investigators say that Mack, who uses over 25 different aliases, 8 different Social Security numbers and 7 different dates of birth, had been at the Super 8 Motel since February 21, 2019, at a cost to taxpayers of $1,228.55.

Mack was arraigned before acting Monticello Village Judge Leo Glass and sent to the Sullivan County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
