Monticello, NY – The Human Rights Commission (HRC) of Sullivan County, in its long-standing relationship with the community and law enforcement, has announced a joint project partnering with local & state police and community leaders with a goal to strengthen police-community relations.
The Human Rights Commission and police are joining forces at three major summer events in Sullivan County, beginning with Liberty’s July 4th Festival at Lapolt Park, followed by Fallsburg’s National Night Out on August 1 and Monticello’s Bagel Fest on August 13. Activities scheduled at each event include “The Convincer” (a texting and driving simulator) provided by the New York State Police, Monticello’s K-9 Unit and a dunking booth provided by Party Master.
Partners committed to this endeavor include the Sullivan County Legislature, Catholic Charities, Fallsburg PD, Latino Alliance, Liberty PD, Monticello PD, NAACP, New York State Police, Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, Sullivan County Legal Aid, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and the United Methodist Church of Monticello.
