Missed the First 'Songs and Stories of the '60s'? There's More!

Hurleyville, NY – The Sullivan County Historical Society is pleased to present the second in a series of free performances and informal talks about the history and culture of the Woodstock era. “Live Music and History: Songs and Stories of the Sixties” is hosted by Little Sparrow and will feature some of the most talented guitarists in our area.

On Sunday, April 8, from 2-3 p.m., guest guitarist Steve Schwartz will join guitarist Aldo Troiani of Little Sparrow in performing and discussing the songs and the guitars that made the ‘60s such an important time in music history.

Steve is a local legend, both for his extraordinary guitar-playing as well as for his famously eclectic and musician-friendly store in Rock Hill (Steve’s Music). He has performed with numerous local bands, including Jazzmosis and the Rock Hill Ramblers.

This series of performances and talks will continue on the first Sunday of each month at the Sullivan County Museum and Cultural Center, inside the intimate Timeline Gallery. The following month (Sunday, May 6), Little Sparrow will be joined by saxophonist Larry Ravdin.  Larry spent many years playing the illustrious Catskill resorts, accompanying such greats as Sammy Davis Jr., Rita Moreno and Chita Rivera.

Donations are welcomed to benefit the Sullivan County Historical Society. The Cultural Center is located at 265 Main Street in the revitalized downtown of Hurleyville. For more information, visit www.scnyhistory.org or call 845-434-8044.
