Public Invited to Talk About Sharing Services

Monticello, NY – Deputy Sullivan County Manager John Liddle is asking residents and business owners throughout the County to share with him their thoughts about more efficient government.

“County Manager Josh Potosek has directed me to spearhead the creation of the State-required Countywide Shared Services Plan for the coming year, and I want to obtain as wide a range of ideas as possible,” Liddle remarked. “The State has promised to match any savings we realize with additional funding, so we have an opportunity to really make a difference for taxpayers.”

The first in a series of Countywide Shared Services Panel meetings will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at the Government Center in Monticello. A variety of local officials have been invited, and Liddle hopes the general public will also make it a point to attend – and participate.

“We owe it to our own future to at least have frank and open conversations about shared services and consolidation, so that we can make homeownership more affordable Countywide,” Liddle said. “The potential benefits are simply too great to ignore.”
