RESCHEDULED: Country/Bluegrass Dance Group Headed for County Museum

The Country Travelers

Hurleyville, NY – The Country Travelers are a classic country/bluegrass dance band whose repertoire includes square and round dance tunes, and longtime dance caller Patty Legg will actually call a dance during their show at the Sullivan County Museum on Sunday, December 15, starting at 2 p.m. (rescheduled from December 1 due to wintry conditions). Wear your dancing shoes!

Members of The Country Travelers come from Ulster and Sullivan counties. They include Patty Legg, guitar and lead vocals; Bob Hunt, banjo, guitar and vocals; Paul Lounsbury, fiddle, guitar and vocals; Dave Trestyn, bass and vocals; and Bill Angell, autoharp and hammered dulcimer.

The Americana band Little Sparrow will host the event, and the concert is part of the Sullivan County Historical Society’s annual Open House and Theme Tree Exhibit. The Historical Society Board will be on hand to welcome members, perspective members, and anyone who would like to join in the fun.

Both events are free (donations gratefully accepted)! Music starts at 2 p.m., but the open house runs from 1-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The Sullivan County Museum is located at 265 Main Street, Hurleyville. Call 845-434-8044 for more info, or visit www.scnyhistory.org.
