Chairman Announces Committees, Postings, More to Come

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Legislature Chairman Robert A. Doherty is pleased to announce a number of changes coming to the Legislature’s committee structure and public interface.

“As per the authority placed in me, I made committee assignments earlier this week, with legislators being redistributed throughout the various committees,” Doherty stated. “We also plan to streamline the committee system, with the Parks, Agriculture and Sustainability Policy Committee being absorbed into the Planning Committee, reflecting the fact that our Parks and Sustainability offices are now under the Division of Planning.”

The list of committee assignments is below. Dates for committee meetings in 2022 will be announced shortly.

A new agenda & livestreaming software system will be introduced in February, improving the tracking of agendas, resolutions and related documents, along with ensuring the continued ability of the public to remotely view committee meetings in progress or any time afterwards at their convenience.

“Ultimately, this summer, our goal – through our Division of Information Technology Services – is to install and operate a multi-camera audiovisual system that will afford viewers a much better, more understandable experience of our meetings,” Doherty remarked. “We want to be as transparent as possible and give people every opportunity to watch and listen to the important discussions happening during these committee meetings.”
