Hurleyville, NY – “I only had to hear four bars of a song Matthew Albeck was playing on his sexy yellow Fender Strat to know I loved this young man’s music,” said Carol Smith, co-producer of the Sullivan County Cultural Center & Museum’s First Sunday concert series. “He was playing an instrumental song for an appreciative crowd at the Jeffersonville Farm Market. It was a beautiful, lazy Sunday afternoon - the sound of his guitar was mesmerizing”.
The Sullivan County Historical Society is pleased to present Albeck in concert on Sunday, July 3, starting at 2 p.m. The performance will be hosted by the band Little Sparrow, and there will no doubt be a collaborative element to the show. Albeck is a master of numerous genres, including jazz, pop, rock, classic rock and blues. He is a multi-instrumentalist and jazz composer who did his undergraduate work at Colgate College and graduate work in jazz performance at Queens College.
“He is also one of many extremely talented young musicians who live in Sullivan County and are quietly turning it into one of the hottest places in the country to hear new live music,” added Smith.
The concert is sponsored by the Sullivan County Historical Society. Admission is free - donations are welcome! The Cultural Center & Museum is located at 265 Main Street, Hurleyville. Call 845-434-8044 for more info, or visit www.scnyhistory.org.
