Monticello, NY – Sepsis – the body’s extreme response to an infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – is a life-threatening medical emergency, triggering a potentially deadly chain reaction throughout the body.
Thus sepsis, along with medication safety and senior scams, will be the focus of the 8th Annual Senior Safety Day on Wednesday, October 17. The Sullivan County Office for the Aging (OFA) and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County’s (CCESC) Caregiver Resource Center will offer this FREE event at the Ted Stroebele Recreation Center on 2 Jefferson Street in Monticello.
Registration, light breakfast, and the health fair begin at 8:30 a.m. The OFA Annual Public Hearing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by guest speakers at 10:30 a.m. Lunch and door prize drawings will conclude the event at noon (participants must be present to win).
