Statement on the Passing of Jim Lyttle

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Legislature Chairman Luis Alvarez released this statement upon hearing today of the passing of former Sullivan County Office for the Aging Director James Lyttle:

“Jim Lyttle served Sullivan County for 25 years with pride, professionalism and dedication. The Kiamesha Lake resident began his career with us in 1985 as Coordinator of what was then known as our Aging Services Department. A decade later, he was appointed the Director of the Office for the Aging, where he spent the next 15 years cultivating and improving critical services to our older citizens and their families. He loved this County and the people in it, and served his community in many ways beyond County leadership, including as longtime Chairman of the Town of Thompson Planning Board. All of Sullivan County government offers its condolences to Jim’s family and thanks them for sharing his life with us for many wonderful years.”
