The Fire Service had a busy month with structure fires, brush fires and weather related calls. I would like to thank all the fire personnel and emergency services for all your efforts in working together.

Elections, several departments had elections in April, I want to thank the outgoing Chiefs for all your hard work and dedication, and I welcome all the new Chiefs and look forward to working with you. Please if you had changes in your officer statuses contact your Battalion Coordinator with all the new contact information.

Thank you to all the Chiefs and Line Officers who attended the Officers meeting on April 10th we had a great showing and meeting.

Sullivan County Division of Public Safety and Youth Bureau is happy to announce the first Annual Emergency Services Youth Academy to be held this summer for 14 - 16 year old teens at the Emergency Services Training Center. Please save the date of July 22nd – 26th and watch for the registration announcement in the near future.

Sullivan BOCES Career & Technical Education Center is still looking for High School juniors and seniors to sign up for the Fire Science program for the 2024/25 school year. If you know of a student who is or not a member of a Fire Department that might be interested please contact BOCES at 845-295-4125 www.scboces.org/CTE

The Burn Ban is in effect until May 14th, even though Mother Nature sent us April rain we still need to stay prepared for some dry weather.

I want to thank all the fire departments for submitting their fire reports; we are 100% thank you very much. Please contact BC-3 if you have any questions with Fire Reports.

The Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Annual Memorial Service will be held May 5, 2023 2PM at the Sullivan County Government Center. Please come join the memorial service to help honor our brothers and sisters who have passed away in 2023.

The spring and summer training schedules are out and posted on our website. The training center is available for department use please contact the training coordinator at least 2 weeks before.

Recruitment and Retention Task force is up and running with a lot of positive energy. Please help promote recruitment by sharing the Join Sullivan County Fire Facebook page, Instagram page, @joinsullivanfire along with a direct email joinsullivanfire@gmail.com .
