Climate Action Plan

The County Legislature voted unanimously to accept the SC Climate Action Plan as a working document in April 2014. The Plan sets specific targets for GHG reduction in county operations and outlines specific goals and strategies for energy, transportation, materials management, land and water use, emergency management and public health.

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Reimbursement Program

Sullivan County’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Reimbursement Program helps local municipalities and public library districts develop infrastructure to support a network of electric vehicle charging stations. These Program Guidelines are intended to:

  • Provide information about the Program countywide and promote the Program through an initial allocation of funding to all legislative districts;
  • Foster projects that have county-wide or regional significance by strategically locating infrastructure to promote community and economic development;
  • Increase the impact of the grants and provide accountability of the Program through enhanced project tracking.

Benchmarking Policy

The Benchmarking Policy outlines a procedure for collecting, recording and analyzing energy use data and for providing the public with information on the energy used in County operations and the associated reductions, as well as fuel and energy costs of building operations and reductions in GHG emissions that will result from our collected efforts to operate more efficiently.

Fleet Efficiency Policy

The Fleet Efficiency Policy demonstrates Sullivan County’s commitment to reducing operational costs associated with the operation and maintenance of a vehicle fleet. Outcomes include lower fuel costs, well maintained vehicles, safer vehicles, and continued progress toward attaining the greenhouse gas emissions reductions identified in the Sullivan County Climate Action Plan, approved in April 2014 by the Sullivan County Legislature.

Energize NY Pre-Application Form

The Energize NY Commercial Program helps commercial properties make energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to buildings. The program can help property owners identify incentive programs, find reliable, certified contractors and engineering firms, access low-cost, long-term financing and develop a plan for measurement and verification of energy savings after the upgrades are complete. The pre-application form is the first step for interested commercial and not for profit property owners to complete.
