Callicoon Riverside Park

In the Spring of 2022, Sullivan County acquired a 38-acre parcel from Trust for Public Land, in the Town of Delaware, located along the Delaware River. This property was formerly operated as a campground which ceased operations after years of repeated flooding.

The County intends to develop this parcel as a passive outdoor recreational asset and incorporate it into the inventory of park facilities. The County is in the design phase of the project, and the site is currently closed to public access.

Callicoon Riverside Park Plan

This image is from the Callicoon Riverside Park Plan (developed by the Trust for Public Land and Environmental Planning & Design, and viewable by using the link below), and shows the property in relation to landmarks like Route 97 and the Delaware Youth Center. Callicoon's downtown business district is outside the map's boundaries (on the left side) but is a quick walk or bike ride down Creamery Road. NOTE: This image and the rest of the plan are subject to change as the project progresses.
