ARE YOU BEHIND IN PROPERTY TAXES, MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, WATER/SEWER BILLS OR OTHER BILLS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?  ARE YOU A LANDLORD THAT IS OWED BACK RENT?

The Sullivan County Treasurer’s Office has been made aware of several programs that may be able to help.  The Treasurer’s Office has no further information concerning these programs.  We strongly urge you to visit each website to determine eligibility, etc.

  1. Homeowners in New York State who were financially affected by COVID-19 and who are now behind on their housing payments may be eligible for assistance.

  1. The NYS Office of Attorney General has been funding non-profit housing counseling and legal services programs to provide services to homeowners in every county of the state since 2012 under its Homeowner Protection Program (HOPP).  These services are provided to homeowners at no cost and generally regardless of a homeowner’s income.

  1. RUPCO Inc. is administering funds for the NYS Landlord Assistance Program which can provide grant funds to assist with qualified repairs, fiscal distress and back rent for eligible units in Sullivan County.  Call RUPCO at 845-713-4568 or visit:

Nancy Buck, Sullivan County Treasurer, has advised that all property tax foreclosure proceedings are stayed until April 30, 2022.

 

Payment of taxes due can be made by check or money order via:

Mail – payable to the Sullivan County Treasurer, PO Box 5012, Monticello, NY 12701

Secure drop box at the entrance to the Sullivan County Government Center - 100 North Street in Monticello, or

In person at the Treasurer’s Office on the first floor of the Government Center
