Public Health, NYU Collaborate on Diabetes Survey

Liberty, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services and the NYU School of Medicine have partnered to perform a health survey sponsored by the National Institutes of Health to better understand the health and dietary patterns of residents in Sullivan County and the prevalence of diabetes. The project is titled “The Impact of the Food Environment and Other Environmental Exposures on the Risk of Diabetes in Rural Settings.”

“Households will be randomly chosen to participate in this health survey,” said Public Health Director Nancy McGraw. “The survey takes only 5 to 10 minutes, and you will receive a $10 gift card by mail from NYU School of Medicine, plus the opportunity to participate in additional parts of the study for additional compensation.”

“Should your household receive this survey, please be assured it is legitimate,” added District 2 Legislator Nadia Rajsz, chair of the Legislature’s Health & Family Services Committee. “The survey is completely voluntary, and your responses will be kept confidential. Remember: you must be a Sullivan County resident to be eligible, and please choose only one adult from your household to answer the survey.”
