Monticello, NY – Representing a new vision and direction for Sullivan County, the official County Government website, www.SullivanNY.us, was unveiled today at the monthly meeting of the Sullivan County Legislature.

“Today is the culmination of months of diligent effort, led by our Information Technology Services (ITS) team, to rethink and refashion the perception and digital presence of the County of Sullivan,” remarked County Manager Josh Potosek. “I am thrilled with the results, and I look forward to seeing what new and useful services we can provide our residents, businesses and visitors through this portal.”

The site has been in regular use since being soft-launched June 1.

“Sullivan County has entered a new era, and SullivanNY.us reflects that turning point,” Legislature Chairman Luis Alvarez stated. “It reveals the hard work our County employees do every day, and I thank those who had the vision to take this major step forward.”

Chief Information Officer Lorne Green, who heads ITS, credited both his staff and the vendor, Discover eGov, for taking a fresh, creative approach.

“Ultimately, this will be more than a redesign but an entire revamping of how we interact with the public online,” he explained. “Our vision for the new website does not end with its debut – we have built a foundation from which we can launch additional innovative content and services in the months and years to come.”

Content even now is being updated to provide more efficient, intuitive and useful access to the information people seek from and about the County, with the aim of keeping that content fresh, timely and informative.

“My hope is that SullivanNY.us will prove as useful and indispensable as our brick-and-mortar locations,” said District 1 Legislator Scott Samuelson, who chairs the Legislature committee to which ITS reports, Management and Budget. “To that end, we welcome feedback from the public about the new site and encourage them to explore it fully.”
