Water Resource Management

Water resource management entails not only using our water wisely, but also preparing for and managing large influxes of water during flood events.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has developed preliminary new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) to better identify areas of high risk, and the public input period is underway. The following FEMA and NYSDEC publications are designed to help residents, businesses and municipal officials understand the new maps and their implications.
